Dario da Silva Oliveira Neto is a Ph.D. candidate in Commercial Law at the University of São Paulo (USP). He holds an LL.M. in International Business and Economic Law (IBEL) from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., an M.A. in Economic Development, with a concentration in Regional Economics, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC-RS), a postgraduate specialization in Business Law from PUC-RS, and a postgraduate specialization in Economic Law and Competition Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). He also holds undergraduate degrees in Economics from PUC-RS and in Law from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).
He serves as Senior Scholar of Competition Policy at the International Center for Law & Economics (ICLE). He previously served as Director of the Latin America Competition Advocacy Program at the Global Antitrust Institute (GAI) at George Mason University. From 2020 to 2022, he worked at the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), most recently as Chief of Staff to the Office of the President. He is licensed to practice law in Brazil and has passed the New York Bar Exam. He is also a licensed economist in Brazil. He is the author of book chapters and academic articles on competition law, antitrust, and digital markets regulation, and he teaches graduate-level courses at several Brazilian universities.
